Kausi 4, 6/10. Halupula. Reija on kriisin keskellä hukassa olevien halujensa vuoksi. Laura passitetaan sairaslomalle lepäämään työuupumus pois, mutta suorittajan on vaikea pysähtyä.

Richardsson tekee läpimurron tutkinnassa muttei saa kertoa Erikille. Peter ja Erik yrittävät taas sopia, mutta vahvat tunteet tutkinnasta estävät sen.

Kausi päättyy. Erik uskoo tietävänsä, kuka murhaaja on, mutta Peter kulkee omaa tietään. Odottamaton kuolemantapaus tuhoaa Erikin toiveet ratkaisusta.

Tiimi tutkii pohjia myöten YK-diplomaatin murhayritystä ja löytää johtolangan kaupungin tunneleista. Stabler yrittää samalla hoitaa äidilleen tukea.

Poliisi epäilee häikäilemättömän murhan liittyvän pankkiryöstöaaltoon. DNA-jälki sopii epäiltyyn, jolla on vahva alibi, ja tiimi joutuu koville.

Kausi alkaa. Meech salakuljettaa huumeita sijoituksena tulevaisuuteen. Terry käynnistää uuden yrityksen Charlesin kanssa jätettyään huumeet taakseen.
